ZEMLIA

Zemlia is a Ukrainian word which means "Earth". It represents everything we mean when we talk about our roots, childhood, origins, first steps, emotions, and love. It’s where everything begins and where everything culminates and, thus, transitions to something new.

Earth

Is also the title of one of the most famous films by the Ukrainian filmmaker O. Dovzhenko. It’s a story about deep philosophical understanding of life, death and love. The visuals of the film are unusually beautiful and truly captivating: the scenes of cleansing rain pouring down on the fruit of the earth cause the transformation of the surrounding world. It’s futurism and traditionalism, utopianism and conservatism – it’s all in one.

The 90´s Reset

Our new collection Zemlia is, in a way, a reset of the 90's, where the boundaries between masculinity and femininity began to blur, where women felt equally attractive in pantsuits and in dresses. It’s a time of newly found freedoms, new challenges and choices, a time of metamorphosis and transformation, another cycle of changes to take us back to the true values and keeping them for good.

Monochrome

Just like in the silent movie of O. Dovzhenko, once again we choose the monochrome: a peculiar way of transitioning from white to black and backwards.

Buy less, buy better

And again, we use natural fabrics only: wool, mohair, organic cotton, linen and silk from dead stock. That's why the collection is limited. Yet again we stand by the slogan "buy less, buy better".

“If it’s necessary to choose between truth and beauty, I’ll choose beauty. In it there’s a larger, deeper existence than naked truth. Existence is only that which is beautiful.”
Olexander Dovzhenko.

The Ode to the Ukrainian Land

All the models of the collection are named after Ukrainian cities and regions. This is our ode to the Ukrainian land and to all its incredible women, an ode to the freedom in the times of change, to possibility of choice and to independence, the boundaries which everyone chooses for themselves.
